Three Generations of British Manufacturing
Founded in 1992, SGI has grown from a small family-run operation into one of the UK’s leading specialists in vehicle conversion glasses and window units. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the business has continued to evolve while retaining the knowledge, experience and hands-on approach that have shaped SGI for more than three decades.
That growth has seen SGI move through a succession of increasingly larger premises, with our current home in Trafford Park marking our fourth and largest factory and warehouse facility. Alongside our manufacturing capabilities, our product range has expanded significantly, with SGI now supplying window units covering around 90% of van types across the UK and Europe.
Meet Hannah, Managing Director
Hannah is the third generation of the family to lead SGI. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University, she began her career in the legal sector before joining the family business in 2005..
Starting within SGI’s operations department gave Hannah first-hand experience of the processes, people and practicalities behind the business. She progressed through the company before becoming Managing Director, taking responsibility for leading SGI into its next chapter..
Her focus is firmly on the future: investing in technology, improving manufacturing processes and developing smarter, more efficient internal operations, while preserving the family knowledge and expertise that have underpinned SGI for more than 30 years. Under Hannah’s leadership, the third generation of SGI is building on that heritage while preparing the business for its next stage of growth.

All our glass is European, R43 approved with the relevant certification and our bonded opening windows are VCA approved. We only deal with suppliers that share our dedication to providing a high quality product and high quality service. This combined with our innovative designs allows our customers to have confidence that the windows we supply will fit correctly, pass without issue any type approval process they may have to go through and be fault and leakage free.
